C.A.R. refugees flee in the D.R.C., says UNHCR Fatoumata Lejeune-Kaba

The United Nations refugee agency says it has deployed additional emergency teams to  the Central African Republic

This as latest reports from the capital, Bangui say some 210,000 people have been forcibly displaced by violence in the last two weeks

To escape the fighting and insecurity, hundreds of people are reported to have fled by boat across the Oubangui River to Zongo in the neighbouring Democratic Republic of the Congo despite the offical closure of the border.

There are now nearly three thousand, three hundred C-A-R refugees who have arrived by boat in the DRC since 5th December.

I spoke with Fatoumata Lejeune-Kaba is the UNHCR spokesperson in Geneva. Listen on RFI English:
