I love Twitter and Instagram just because they allow us to connect with extremely talented people and bodies - art institutions, museums, creators, new voices, writers - in a way that traditional communication tools did not enable.
You start a search and fall on something else, unexpectedly, like it happens sometimes in real life. You "meet" someone for one particular reason and they happen to have so much more to offer than expected...
How beautiful is our world for whom knows how to look at it with whole-hearted open eyes!
Today, as we are in the middle of a "syzygy", an alignment between the Sun, the Earth and the Moon, also know as a penumbral Moon or partial solar eclipse, I just discovered this amazing artist: Lina Iris Viktor.
Just contemplate this and mesmerize:

Beautiful Lina was born in London to Liberian parents and works between England, New York and a few African cities, including Monrovia and Johannesburg.
Here is the comment on her painting by Art News Africa on Instagram that inspired my post:
Via @linairisviktor detail of the work ‘syzygy’.
"Syzygy is the astronomical term for the exact alignment of the sun, moon, and the earth in a straight line. Today - august 18th, on the penumbral full moon eclipse in aquarius, we on earth will be in syzygy with the sun and moon. It is a powerful day within a transformative time for us all. We are experiencing a period in human history of massive shift and transition.
those who are aware can feel it acutely.
Blessings to all who are consciously in a state of transformation".

I am myself very drawn to blue in painting and of course to black and the use of light and a touch of bright colours, especially a touch of silver, but her gold is simply powerful!!
Here is more from her website:
CONCEPT
Lina Iris Viktor chooses to work in a strictly limited world - it is a mythical one of her creation existing within the zen-influenced, blurred lines of the real and the imagined. The world she imagines is perfectly curated, puristic, and minimalist - it tends to cancel out materiality, to transfer it to the realm of the spiritual. Governed by a purist color palette, her work considers the natural laws, hermetic philosophies, mathematic & scientific principles, and seeks to instill a divine order to all around her.
Working across multiple mediums, she adheres to the colour palette of blue, black, white and 24-karat gold to create paintings, living sculptures, photography, performance works, and installations. Viktor's work fuses apparent contradictions, synchronizing the monumental and the minuscule, decadent and the minimal, the spectacular and the invisible, seeking to heighten the experience of the spectator. Her self-portraits aim to transform the artist, to transmute her into being one with the elements; one with the concepts present in her work.
It is evident through her process of creation and self-documentation that Viktor spends time monitoring the intention of her art, and takes the responsibility of directing her ever-evolving public role as an artist.
