Calais: From Banksy's Steve Jobs to London Calling

Migrants deface Banksy artwork inside Calais jungle as SOLAR PANELS installed at camp

MIGRANTS have defaced a Bansky mural inside the Calais "jungle" camp, which has been fitted with solar panels.

The famous graffiti artist painted an image of Apple creator Steve Jobs on a wall near the "Jungle" camp in northern France.

But now, the wall has been daubed with the words "London Calling", with the image of Jobs acting as the "I".

Enterprising migrants even charge visitors £13 to look at the mural.

It isn't clear who scrawled the prophetic message but it was likely a member of the camp, many of who wish to reach Britain.

Now, the camp is becoming increasingly permanent as solar panels have appeared among tents and ramshackle houses.

It is also home to schools, places of worship, barbershops and even restaurants.

When unveiling the original mural, graffiti artist Bansky said: "We’re often led to believe migration is a drain on the country’s resources, but Steve Jobs was the son of a Syrian migrant.

"Apple is the world’s most profitable company – it pays over $7billion a year in taxes – and it only exists because they allowed in a young man from Homs."

Steve Job's biological father is political refugee Abdul Fattah Jandali, who now lives in Nevada.

The camp is home to migrants from as far afield as Syria and Eritrea who wish to come to Britain or France.

In July, David Cameron pledged to deport more people to stop the "swarm of people" coming from North Africa and the Middle East.
