More music! Music non stop...
I haven't listened to much music in days. I usually listen to music hours a day, most of the time the same record for a few days, when it's good from the beginning to the end, when it lives with me and stays on in my head even in the corridors, the staircase, the office where I can actually not keep on listening to it.
But after Friday, after a concert venue was destroyed into our city of light and music, something was blocked. Just a couple of songs came in, calling from inside: 'The Present Tense' by Radiohead, and 'Redemption Song', which needs no introduction. I also thought about 'Teardrop' a lot, about 'False Flags', but didn't dare opening the pandora's box of emotions. Ibrahim Maalouf's 'Beirut' found its way, no lyric, just pure melancholy and such a relevant title.
Now, tonight an hour of music just forced its way through the blocked doors. And brought with it the first feeling of happiness in days, as music always does. A happiness still embedded with some deep sadness, as more conflict is being sent as an answer to increasing violence, into a spiral of hatred.
But music is love, my love, as Chassol would state. And that's probably why love songs sometimes find their way as suitable to express any form of sufferance. Because love is music.

Don Backy - CANZONE (1968)
(testo di Don Backy; musica di Don Backy e Detto Mariano)
3° a Sanremo
(Adriano Celentano - Milva)
