Mali: Ban Ki-moon afraid of risks if there is an intervention in the North

The UN Secretary general is currently holding consultations in order to approve or not a African mission in Northern Mali. And this Wednesday he expressed his worries about a potential military intervention.

(Reuters) - U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on Wednesday recommended that the Security Council approve an African Union peace enforcement mission be deployed to combat Islamist extremists in northern Mali, but did not offer financial support from the world body.
